A Disparate Comparison

Every adversity, every failure, every heartache carries with it the seed of an equal or greater benefit.
-- Napoleon Hill

There is no education like adversity.
-- Disraeli

I’ve been watching the show Man vs Wild. Now I don’t know exactly how the show is filmed or if it’s even authentic, but a lesson for today came out of it. A plane or helicopter drops the show’s host, Bear Grylls, into some wilderness area and he must find his way out. It is not the authenticity of the show, which is the lesson, but tough situations. If hikers are lost in the wild, they must do what they can to survive and make it back to civilization.

I’m on a journey, too, sometimes quite difficult – life and its different situations. It often feels as if I’m in a wilderness and have no idea where I’m going. The only thing is that I have a guide who never leaves me. He shows me the way, even when I do not ask for help. What I’m doing as far as the actions I’m taking to get through this difficult time often come not from my own guidance, but from His – Jesus.

Ok, I don’t have to eat bugs and other food in the wild to keep me going or face dangerous animals, but I must remember to keep my connection with Jesus, who keeps me going. For me, this world is a dangerous place without Jesus for my guide. He keeps me on the path and keeps a smile on my face (ok, maybe not all the time, but more than before I started these writings).

My gratitude today is the lesson I learned, Sasha by my side, and the love and guidance of Jesus in my life.

No Longer in the Wilderness, Michelle Rose

I can relate to that quote from Hill and might i add it requires some degree of maturity to grasp its truth. I remember as a child being told every dissapointment is a blessing in disguise i couldn't understand it then, but through growth and reliance on His Holy Spirit i do now

much love
