"We are all born with wonderful gifts. We use these gifts to express ourselves, to amuse, to strengthen, and to communicate. We begin as children to explore and develop our talents, often unaware that we are unique, that not everyone can do what we're doing!"

This morning Quentin Clingerman, an online Christian friend, sent me the article below. For me it's not just news about a little-known species prevailing in the face of adversity, but a lesson about how I, as a human being, can do the same thing.

In times of adversity, I've wanted just to throw in the towel and give up. Well, it doesn't work that way, at least in God's world. He doesn't allow me to quit, or at least He hasn't until now, nor will He ever allow me to give up, until He calls me home. Beneath me I have a Solid Rock in Jesus, supporting me when I feel weak or don't think I can go on any longer.

God teaches me lessons, although I never know where they will come from. For me, this fact just shows the amazing diversity of my Lord.

Michelle,

As a gardener I soon came to the conclusion that nature is the language of the universe. I applaud every effort in learning it, in fact it's imperative we do so --even when we don't like what it is saying about us. Thanks for this particular lesson in it.

Hi, Michelle, Just read a neat comment from Beth Moore's, Get Out of That Pit. I'll share a bit of it that relates to the topic of the day rather well. "People can help us but they can't heal us. On occasion people can pull us out of a pit but they cannot keep us out...Joseph's brothers pulled him out of the cistern and sold him into slavery. If another person pulls us out of the pit, solely assuming the role of the Deliverer, (none other than the Christ) he or she will inadvertently sell us into slavery of one kind or another almost every time." Have a great day with the only Deliverer who is in it for the long haul.

Thank you Ruth, this is so beautiful. Yes, Jesus is our only Deliverer. I was reading Isaiah this morning about how He was crushed for our salvation. I have been pulled out of the pit many times only to land in one kind of slavery or another, whether it be addiction or being controlled by another person.
